TEN OPEN RIVERS
As most anglers know, the majority of the rivers are still closed allowing the recovery of the salmon population.In the Letterkenny District the following rivers can be fished:
Owena/Owentocker; Gweebara; Crana; Gweedore (Crolly); Clady (Catch& Release only)
In the Ballyshannon District another five can be fished:
Duff; Drowes: Eany; Glen; Eske(Catch& Release only)
The moment there is a change in the Ray river situation it will be announced on this website.
Salmon and Sea Trout Fishing at the River Ray
Located halfway between Falcarragh and Mount Muckish on the River Ray in the townland of Upper-Moyra, Muckish Mountain Fishery is an excellent location for salmon and sea trout fishing.Ray River is the seventh river out of 24, in the area of the Northern Regional Fisheries Board, with a recorded catch on rod and line of 163 salmon as the yearly average for 2001 and 2002.

The fishery is also an ideal as a spectacular holiday location, placed near the magnificent beaches of Erraroey, Falcarragh and Magheroarty and near the spectacular Muckish and Errigal mountains and the Glenveagh National Park.You are advised to book well in advance, therefore please contact us for early bookings.
Rates: €25 per day, €15 per half day
Season: Salmon: 2 February to 30 September
Seatrout: 2 February to 12 October
